Don’t know what to get Frederick Douglass for his 193 birthday? Here’s a tip: Douglass loved books. He loved to write them, he loved to read them, he loved to collect them. Frederick Douglass loved books.
As our present to Frederick Douglass we are throwing him a birthday party all about him and books. There will be music, programs on the history of Anacostia, kids’ activities, and lots of talk about the books he wrote, the books he read, and how reading and writing can change our world. Plus a live broadcast from Douglass’ former home in New Bedford, MA. The program is free so come and help us celebrate Frederick Douglass and his books!
