| The AWS reception gave HIVE members and members of the community a chance to learn about AWS projects and initiatives. |

| Since 1989 AWS has worked hard to return the Anacostia River and its surroundings to a clean and healthy condition. |

| Guests engaged on a dialogue on ways they could help clean the river and promote green initiatives. |
 |
| The event was open to the public and held at AWS's satellite space at The HIVE. |
 |
| Councilmember Tommy Wells (Ward 6) attended the reception and has been a long-time supporter of the Anacostia Watershed Society |
