July 12: Ward 8 Transportation Task Force Meeting

I have to work tonight, but support a Circulator route that goes from eastern market (and points beyond) and does a circle in Ward 8 from Anacostia to Skyland to Camp Simms and back to Anacostia and back over the bridge. We need a bus that connects the commercial hubs of Ward 8 with each other, not just provides access to Anacostia. Please share this view if you can! Thanks!

ABOUT HISTORIC ANACOSTIA

Historic Anacostia is a neighborhood in Ward 8 located in Washington, D.C.

Incorporated in 1854 as "Uniontown" the neighborhood was one of the first suburbs in the District of Columbia. The name "Anacostia" comes from an early settlement of Necostan or Anacostan Indians who lived on the banks of the Anacostia River.

"The core of the Anacostia historic district was incorporated in 1854 and is approximately 20 squares. The Anacostia historic District is roughly bounded by Martin Luther King Avenue on the west, Good Hope Road on the north, Fendall Street and the rear of the Frederick Douglass home (Cedar Hill) on the east, and Bangor Street and Morris Road on the south." -- via Anacostia Historic District
