Retail Therapy: Martha's Table opens second 'Outfitters' store on MLK Ave

We at ESLA love to get our shop on-- particularly when we can walk from our perch on MLK Avenue to indulge in a little retail therapy. Coming this spring DC nonprofit Martha's Table is expanding their successful Outfitters second hand store east of the river to he heat of the Anacostia business district.

Located in the former Sunbelt storefront (2204 MLK Jr. Ave SE) the shop will sell quality second hand apparel. I'm keeping my eye out for some vintage cashmere! :)

This is so exciting! So glad to see the business district begin to flourish! Hopefully this is the beginning of more retail businesses coming to Anacostia.

ABOUT HISTORIC ANACOSTIA

Historic Anacostia is a neighborhood in Ward 8 located in Washington, D.C.

Incorporated in 1854 as "Uniontown" the neighborhood was one of the first suburbs in the District of Columbia. The name "Anacostia" comes from an early settlement of Necostan or Anacostan Indians who lived on the banks of the Anacostia River.

"The core of the Anacostia historic district was incorporated in 1854 and is approximately 20 squares.
