Anacostia Coordinating Council invites you to these special events

Next Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 10:22 a.m., will mark the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham, Alabama church bombing, which was a critical event in the civil rights struggle.

To commemorate that tragedy, the Anacostia Coordinating Council, Daughters and Sons of Dorcas Anacostia Art Quilters, and the Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ invite you to the following events that will be held at the church, 3845 South Capitol Street, SW:

Sunday, September 15 at 10:00 am:
Special worship service commemorating the Birmingham bombing

Sunday, September 15 at Noon:
Meet the quilters at opening exhibit and reception in Fellowship Hall

Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 pm:
Reception and panel discussion featuring quilters



Friday, September 20 at 7:00 pm:
"Four Little Girls" by Spike Lee, and discussion

Friday, October 4th at 7:00 pm:
"Mighty Times: The Children's March" documentary, and discussion
