ANC 8A invites all Anacostia residents, stakeholders, and business owners to a special meeting this Saturday, August 24th at 8am. The meeting will take place at the ANC 8A Office. The purpose of this meeting is to garner community support in opposition for the Liquor License Application for the Dollar Plus Store located at 1429 Good Hope Rd SE

ABOUT HISTORIC ANACOSTIA

Historic Anacostia is a neighborhood in Ward 8 located in Washington, D.C.

Incorporated in 1854 as "Uniontown" the neighborhood was one of the first suburbs in the District of Columbia. The name "Anacostia" comes from an early settlement of Necostan or Anacostan Indians who lived on the banks of the Anacostia River.

"The core of the Anacostia historic district was incorporated in 1854 and is approximately 20 squares.
