After weeks of speculation, teaser ads, mysterious e-mails, and cryptic Twitter posts announcing “the biggest thing to happen in Anacostia since the Big Chair.” On Friday, September 10th at a special preview event at the Gallery at Vivid Solutions in Historic Anacostia the ARCH Development Corporation along with the DC Department of Housing and Community Development and reSPIN Public Relations unveiled the brand new community empowerment network, Eat Shop Live Anacostia.
Created by reSPIN Public Relations, a Ward 8 small business, and produced by non-profit ARCH Development Corporation through a grant from the DC Department of Housing and Community Development, Eat Shop Live Anacostia is all Anacostia, all the time. Created to unite and promote all the wonderful things in the Historic Anacostia neighborhood that makes Historic Anacostia the “next big thing” among D.C.’s neighborhoods to watch.
Eat Shop Live Anacostia is composed of several parts:
- Eat Shop Live Anacostia Website
- Eat Shop Live Anacostia Storefront Branding
- Eat Shop Live Anacostia Community Incentive Cards
- Eat Shop Live Anacostia Giveaways
- Eat Shop Live Anacostia Community Events
In addition, Eat Shop Live Anacostia combines social media network such as Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare to bring the new Historic Anacostia experience from in the streets to online and everywhere in between. Anacostia is on track to be the first D.C. neighborhood completely represented on Foursquare. Will you be the next “Mayor of Anacostia?”
Anacostia doesn’t need to be the next U Street. It just needs to be the next Anacostia.
Welcome to the “next Anacostia.”
Welcome to Eat Shop Live Anacostia.
