Thursday, Sept 16th at the Honfleur Gallery (1241 Good Hope Rd SE) in Historic Anacostia over thirty aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners came together for an informational and motivational workshop dubbed “Evening with the Experts”. Presented by the Creative Economy and Entrepreneurial Initiative (CEED) and hosted by educational consultant Tiffany Quivers for the ARCH Development Corporation, the workshop was funded by a grant from the DC Department of Housing and Community Development to provide technical assistance to small businesses and aspiring business owners.
The event began with a catered network reception at 6:00pm. Refreshments included vegan and vegetarian pizzas and dishes. Refreshments prepared by local small business, Vita's Eatery. Vita's Eatery is well known for providing delectable yet healthy gourmet treats as well as offering cooking classes and nutritional education. At 6:30pm workshop attendees began their round of "appointments" with business experts. Attendees were scheduled for at least two (2) 15 minute one-on-one meetings with an expert in a variety of fields including branding, grants, and banking.
