"‘Anacostia’, the series, follows the lives of fictional characters dealing with very real issues. Each resident of ‘Anacostia’ navigates through love, betrayal and deception while dealing with their own agonizing secrets and personal vices. ‘Anacostia’ takes the harsh realities of a forgotten city and demonstrates the struggles through multi-faceted characters. Over the course of the past three seasons, ‘Anacostia’ has tackled such topical issues as alcoholism, domestic abuse, religion and homosexuality. Being on the web, we have been given the freedom to tell these stories with unapologetic honesty. This raw storytelling has ignited much needed dialogue within various and diverse communities and has transcended all demographics. The attention our show received presented us the opportunity to add Emmy Award Winning Actress Martha Byrne to our cast this season. Her role of Alexis has been the talk of the web, garnering overwhelming creative recognition."
