The next BIG thing in Anacostia...brand new office space!

As first reported by Jonathan Neibauer in the Washington Business Journal the site of the former police warehouse located at 2235 Shannon Place SE is going to be transformed into 82,000 square feet of Class A office space.  Readers may recall this warehouse was used for the kick-off parties for LUMEN8ANACOSTIA 2012 and 2013.

Four Points LLC is handling the redevelopment of the building, owned by Curtis Investment Group. Already the building is leased out by three government agencies: DC Taxicab Commission, DDOT, and the DC Lottery. 

The renovation of the entire project is expected to last 12 months. This new project will join the Anacostia Playhouse as another exciting addition to Shannon Place SE.

In the beginning, there was a family ice and coal-hauling business founded by George Curtis, Sr. Soon after, the first Curtis Brothers Furniture store was opened in the heart of Anacostia, in the building now known as the Anacostia Professional Building. The success of that first store led to a chain of furniture stores.
