Everyone who drives, walks, bikes, rides a bus or takes a train in the District should plan to attend to help create a new transportation vision for current and future generations. The June workshops build on what was learned from the workshops held in March 2013. They will offer people an opportunity to view the performance of today’s transportation system, better understand anticipated growth and share specific ideas on how to meet the District’s future transportation needs.
At the workshops, DDOT will present several potential approaches to meeting the District’s future transportation needs. Participants will be asked to identify the positive and negative elements of each scenario, suggest projects that should be included in each, help identify priorities, and share thoughts on trade-offs they’d be willing to support.
“Now is the time to visualize D.C.’s transportation future and to make it a reality. It is important that the many diverse views of our city are represented in this plan and process,” said DDOT Director Terry Bellamy.
